Ganesh Chaturthi is a significant Hindu festival celebrated to honor the birthday of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. It is observed on the 4th day of the Hindu month of Bhadrapada, which usually falls in August or September.
The festival involves the installation of large idols of Ganesha in homes and temples, followed by special prayers and ceremonies. The idols are then immersed in water after 10 days, symbolizing the end of the festival.
Ganesh mandals in Mumbai, is said to be 12-feet tall this year.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Fadnavis stated that the Maharashtra BJP has set up six special trains and 338 buses for followers travelling to the Konkan area for the impending festival.
